THE WEEKEND WARRIORS
One Week at a Time in the Dirt
A Racers View

Well, you have to love the springtime in Ohio. Mother Nature managed to wash out the weekend for the
second time in a row. Friday everyone cancelled early except one track. We are running for points on
Friday and figured that track would get rained out and we would be stuck with wrist bands that we were not
going to use. So we just worked on the car Friday night. Seems strange that it only seems to rain on the
weekends.
We found ourselves up early Saturday hoping against hope that someone would still be racing. We loaded
the car and all the extras we need at the track and started calling around. Midway cancelled early as did
Wayne County Speedway. It looked like the long trip to Tyler County or Florence Speedway was a
possibility. However, after all was said and down, we unloaded the Rayburn back into the shop and called it
a weekend. Tyler ended up raining out, but Florence got their show in.
Since the weekend before was also a complete wash-out, we had the car ready to race. We played a little
with the carb and brakes to pass the time this weekend. We also received our Rhodes Race Wire and
DirtFans.com decal and put them on the car. I got to relax on Saturday afternoon before my three
hour trip home. In a rare occasion I was home early enough to watch a movie with my wife and see that my
son got to bed.. Strange how there is never enough time to do things like that. We did make a little
progress in the support category this past week. We have re-signed a sponsor from last year. L & W
Motorsports is happy to welcome American Eagle Moving back to the team. American Eagle is taking on
a smaller role this season, but we are pleased to have them back.
Our plans for May 1 and May 2 are incomplete as of now. I do know that we will be at Rocky Top
Raceway on Friday. I am just not sure where we are headed on Saturday, but Midway, Wayne County,
I-77, and Florence are all possibilities. We have a weekly press release on www.ohiodtr.com that is
written by Kyle Jones. The press releases are usually up on Wednesday afternoons.
I would once again like to thank Jody Shannon and Todd LeFevers for this opportunity. I want to thank my
sponsors: Rhodes Race Wire, A-C Cleaning and Restoration, Midwest Right of Way, Bunker Hill Welding
And Fabrication, www.DirtFans.com , Fire Freeze Worldwide and American Eagle Moving.
Lastly and definitely not least the fans for their continued support of all the tracks and drivers. We are still
looking for some addition support for the 2005 season. We have many programs to choose from. If you are
