Racin Round Indiana with MaNunn
                Racin Round Indiana.....4/27/06

Well fans, I take you all survived your racing weekend. Mine was a little tame but hey sometimes
things happen. Lets start off on Friday night. Thunder-Valley in Salem was cancelled due to the
extreme amout of rain in that area on Thursday. Bloomington Speedway was host to it's annual Elliott
Brand Clash paying 3.000.00 to win for Sprints. John Stanborough is on a Terror in Southern Indiana.
After finishing second on April 14th at Bloomington, he topped that off with a win at The Burg on
Saturday night. He wheels in to Bloomington on April 21st goes flag to flag to win the Purse and all
the lap money for a total of 6,000.00. He won again on Saturday April 22nd at the Burg. Steve Sutliff
driving the car that belonged to Gary Trammel last year also lead flag to flag to capture the Super
Stock feature. For the second week in a row Jeremy Hines came in second, but that two in a row
second place finishes has put him in the points lead for the time being. Jesse Cramer was the man to
beat in Mod action at the track, Cramer started seventh and by lap seven found himself out front.
Saturday night found us at Brownstown Speedway for the 23rd Annual Hoosier Dirt Classic. Greg
Johnson of Bedford IN captured the victory. Scott James was sure trying to make up ground in the lap
traffic but just quite didnt cover enough to get close enough. Mike Jewell was fast moving up through
the field. Steven Godsey took the Checkers in the ever exciting bomber division. Tim Clark the
Defending Super Stock track Champion pulled into victory lane on the first night of competition for
the Super Stock Division. Great Crowd on hand and great Friends on hand for a great night of racing
and socializing for myself.

Paragon Speedway in the small town located near Martinsville did it again. Opening night and 55
Sprint cars on hand. Keith Ford ran three Sprint Car features that night. Josh Cunningham, John
Sciscoe and John Vennard won each one of their Features. Must have been good luck that evening if
you were a sprinter and your first name started with the letter J. Chris Hillman the Super Stock winner
at Bloomington the previous week came into victory lane and Bobby Gardner of Ellettsville was the
Bomber Winner. I just cant get over the sprint turn out at this track.

Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville Indiana. AJ Anderson won the sprint feature, Kenny
Carmichael Jr. won in the Bomber division. Cullen Goodman won in the Super stocks and Mods seen
Paul Baumgardner in victory lane.

Lawrenceburg Speedway I kind of touched on in my opening with John Stanborough winning the
Sprint Car feature. Bub Balsley won in Super Stock Action, but the rain won for the rest of the
evening.

Twin Cities in North Vernon Indiana was host to modified action as its headliner and Chris Streeval
took the checkers. Nelson Gingery a mainstay at vernon won in pure stocks. Jamie Berry pulled into
victory lane in mini stocks and Ron Plumm and Mark Hines won in the crusier class.

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY, The ARCA series invaded the Hills of Salem Indiana, Billy Venturri
lead 95 of the 200 laps to win over a last lap charge by Ken Schrader. They had 11 lead changes. This
is one track that I am told is well worth the trip. Jody Shannon is a big fan of this track and he and
other members of the DRC highly recommend it.

As an adult and as a working adult we all have our choices as to how we spend our hard earned
paycheck. We make our choices as to what entertains us. Why should we be made to feel bad cause we
choose to spend it at a race that some think maybe over inflated. I for one, spend my hard earned
dollars on the things that bring me pleasure and a night of racing and seeing old friends is worth alot
to me. Today while reading the news I read where Exxon had a first quarter profit of 8.7 billion dollars
thus making the 2.96 I paid for gas yesterday sickening. Are we going to boycott the Oil companies
and sit at home?? In closing this is America and we are free to make these choices, but let us
remember be thankful you have a local track. In my lifetime I have seen several small local tracks in
my area close. Tracks that are precious childhood memories for me.

Until next Time
