Raceway 7 Fetes Champions

By Jay Pees Raceway Magazine

Raceway 7 held its annual awards banquet at the St John’s Social Center in Girard, PA Saturday
night with top ten drivers and others receiving awards for their efforts during the 2005 racing
season.

Stoney Creek Farms Hobby Stocks
Bob Bland
23 drivers ran with the Hobby Stock during 2005 with wins going to Patrick D’Apolito, Bob Bland,
David Brown, Steve Horvath, Larry Ralston, and Carl Tack.  13 races had 20 yellow flags with
three nights going green to checkers, the only class to manage to complete a feature under all
green conditions on more than one occasion. Twice in 2005 saw 15 cars in the pits for a high count
with an average of 12.2 cars in the pits.

Our Stoney Creek Farms Hobby Stock Champion started off with a second place finish opening
night and then drove to Victory lane five nights in a row!  Following a fourth and a third, he then put
three more notches in the win column.  That’s a total of eight wins, twelve top fives, and only once
out of the top ten in thirteen starts.  Nine heat races went to our Champion as well.  Gathering 1439
points, Bob Bland is your Stoney Creek farms Hobby Stocks 2005 Point Champion.
Fame RV Center Street Stocks
Rusty Wheeler
56 drivers competed in the Street Stock division in fourteen events this summer with feature wins
going to Mike Beck, Rich Howell, Chad Stevenson, Matt Thomas, Rusty Wheeler, and Ken
Zimmer.  An average 23.2 cars were in the pits with a season high of 33 on May 20.   There were 64
yellow flags during the season, with the least caution coming on May 13 when only two were
necessary.

Only twice did our champion finish out of the top ten during the season.  Rusty Wheeler builds his
own engines and that ability propelled him into the points championship on the strength of four wins,
eleven top fives, and twelve top tens.  1475 points went along with his record. Rusty also picked up
seven heat wins on his march to the title. The 2005 Fame RV Center Street Stock Champion is
Dorset, OH’s Rusty Wheeler.
Maloney Tool and Mold E-Mods
Dale Applebee
Fifteen nights saw E-Mod racing with a 29.9 average car count.  The most cars in the pits came on
the final night of competition, when 74 cars signed in.  69 times during the season the yellow flag

competed during the season with feature wins going to Dale Applebee, Paul Davis, Russ Dunn,
